Introduction

Approved by Shanghai Science & Technology Committee, Shanghai Key Laboratory of Plant Functional Genomics and Resources was established on September 30th, 2014, The Laboratory is located in Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden and was co-constructed by Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden (Shanghai Chenshan Plant Science Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Shanghai Normal University and Fudan University.

The laboratory combines the national development strategy and local needs, takes the green industry and ecological civilization construction as the guidance, and uses the rich plant resources in the Garden to carry out research work.

The overall goal of the laboratory is to utilize functional genome technology to explore functional genes and innovate germplasm of important plant resources, so as to comprehensively improve the technical level of plant resource protection and sustainable development in China.

It mainly focuses on the generic research of resource plants, including the aspects of genomics and functional genomics, the innovation and sustainable utilization of germplasm resources and so on. So far, we have studied the resource plants with important horticultural and economic value, such as Paeonia, Salvia and Ipomea, and made some impressive achievements.

We hope that our research will contribute to enhancing the core competitiveness of Shanghai by transforming scientific research into economy, promoting the development of food, medicine, cosmetics and other related industries, and providing a good platform for the cultivation of high-level talents and multidisciplinary research. Welcome to join us!
